Hi, my name is Paul and I registered today.

I have been a fan since 2002 and my favourite song at that time was 'Bestseller Mystery' , now it has to be 'Beautiful Night.' My favourite album is 'Music City Soul' while 'Prodigal Sista' comes a close second. All her albums are very good though, I don't think she's capable of ever putting out a bad album.

Welcome to the site Good choice of song, love the mesh of country/soul/blues in Bestseller Mystery, in style it's like the sister song of Shoulda Woulda Coulda on that album!

Prodigal Sista is my favourite Bev album! I think it's the most cohesive album she has made to date and she put so much effort into the producion of that album too, the lyrics, the lush vocals like a wall of sound, arrangements! From beginning to end the album naturally flows, you're never caught off guard. It doesn't go from extreme to extreme. Say for instance on Who I Am, which opens with very urban sounding, funky Get Up then totally changes genre and goes to slow, chilled country soul tune Shoulda Woulda Coulda..

I find her later albums a little messy in the way they go from Rock, Gospel, Funk, Electro Pop, R&B all on one album. All great tracks individually but together it's a bit messy the way she mixes up the genres every time the song changes.
