"Soul UK" Midweek Chart Positions
« Thread started on: Jul 5th, 2011, 09:02am »

"Soul UK" is on course to be Beverley's highest charting album to date and is currently number SIX in the midweeks!

Music Week state:

Quote:
Soul UK, Beverley Knight’s second album on her own Hurricane label, is the week’s biggest-selling new album and is currently the sixth best seller and only newly-issued title to be appearing among the Top 10 positions.

To put this in perspective, "Affirmation" started at #17 and ended up at #11. "Voice" started at #10, remained at #10 first week and subsequently peaked at #9. "Music City Soul" was top 15 and ended up at #8. "100%" started at #21 and ended up at #17 (and without The Beatles re-issues would have ended up at #11/#12).

Considering the single has had VERY little airplay, the promo has really paid off. I will be ecstatic if she can stay at #6 for the rest of the week but I'll be SO happy with a top 10. Keep buying people!

Is this the UK top 40 album charts or i-Tunes?

If it's the top 40 then thats very impressive for an independant label. GO BEV...

If this goes top 10 by the end of the week I'll be so happy for her. Fingers crossed! Will even go out and buy a few 'gift copies' to help the cause.

And hopefully, a top 10 album will open up a new stream of promo opportunities for her and provide a little boost.

Can the DVD chart in DVD sales too? Do physical cd sales get counted up later on in the week for some companies?

Thanks for the info and updates.

Wonder where she charted - what time is the chart officially updated tomorrow?

And what's this all about - surely misinformation?

Look at the release schedule... A US release date.
